A child’s ability to learn, participate and grow is closely connected to having access to nutritious food. For some children and families in Maun, meeting this basic need can be challenging. Through its support for Lehikeng Capacity Building and Development Trust’s feeding programme, Small Village is helping us provide care, dignity and hope to children in our community.
## Nourishing Children and Supporting Their Development
Lehikeng’s feeding programme responds to one of the most immediate needs affecting children. A nutritious meal does more than satisfy hunger. It can help a child concentrate, participate in activities and enjoy the energy needed for healthy development.
The support we receive from Small Village helps us continue providing meals to children participating in our programmes. Their contribution strengthens our ability to create a welcoming environment in which children feel cared for and ready to learn.
## More Than a Meal
Every meal represents more than food on a plate. It shows a child that someone cares about their well-being and believes in their future.
The feeding programme also gives Lehikeng opportunities to connect with children and understand the challenges they face. By meeting an immediate need, we can build trusting relationships and encourage children to participate more fully in learning and developmental activities.
## The Power of Community Partnership
Addressing childhood hunger requires organisations and community partners to work together. Small Village’s support demonstrates the difference that a committed partner can make when it invests in practical solutions to local needs.
By supporting the feeding programme, Small Village is contributing to the well-being of children and strengthening Lehikeng’s capacity to serve the Maun community. This partnership helps us maintain a programme that offers nourishment, care and encouragement.
