OUR IMPACT IN THE LAST YEAR

Feeding days delivered each year

Community united around every meal
Every Meal Opens the Door to Opportunity
A nutritious meal is often the first step in a much bigger journey. Through our Feeding Programme, children receive more than food they find care, encouragement, and a community that believes in their future. From there, many continue into mentorship, education support, life skills development, and pathways toward employment.
MORE THAN A MEAL
We don't simply feed children. We help create the conditions where they can learn, grow, and thrive.
Every plate served is a reminder to a child that someone believes in them. Together, we're not only meeting today's needs we're helping build tomorrow's opportunities.
How the Feeding Program Works
Our regular feeding days are designed to provide consistency for the children we support.
Food Is Prepared
Our team of volunteers coordinates ingredients, food preparation, kitchen requirements, and other supplies needed for the feeding day.
Children Are Transported and Welcomed
Where necessary, transportation is coordinated to help children safely participate in programme activities.
Meals Are Served
Children receive prepared meals in a welcoming community environment.
Children Connect and Participate
Feeding days also create opportunities for conversations, group activities, mentorship and relationship-building.
We Identify Wider Needs
Because our team maintains ongoing relationships with children and families, we can better understand when additional support may be required.

How many children does Lehikeng support through the programme?
Lehikeng currently supports 100+ children through feeding activities and serves more than 15,000 meals annually.
Is the Feeding Program only about providing food?
No. Nutrition is an important starting point, but the programme also helps us maintain relationships with children and families and connect participants with wider opportunities for mentorship, personal development and support.
Can I sponsor an entire feeding day?
Yes. Individuals, families, businesses and organisations can sponsor feeding activities. Contact Lehikeng and our team can discuss current programme needs and sponsorship options with you.
Can my company sponsor the programme?
Yes. Businesses can support individual feeding days or contribute monthly, quarterly or annually. We also welcome appropriate in-kind contributions and operational partnerships.
Can I donate food instead of money?
Yes. We accept suitable in-kind food contributions based on current programme requirements. Please contact our team before purchasing or delivering a large donation so we can tell you which items are most needed.
What other in-kind donations do you need?
Needs vary throughout the year but may include kitchen equipment, food preparation resources, serving supplies and transportation or logistics assistance. Contact us for our current priority list.
Can I volunteer at a feeding day?
Yes, subject to programme availability and Lehikeng's safeguarding requirements. Because our programmes involve children, volunteers must follow our child-protection policies and instructions from the programme team.
Can a company organise an employee volunteering day?
Potentially, yes. We encourage businesses interested in employee engagement to contact us so that we can determine an activity that supports the programme without disrupting normal operations or compromising child safeguarding.
How are donations used?
Donations designated for the Feeding Program help support the delivery of the programme, including food and other necessary programme costs. Unrestricted contributions provide greater flexibility to address the programme's most urgent needs.
Can I make a recurring donation?
Yes. Recurring donations are particularly valuable because they give us greater predictability when planning feeding activities and purchasing supplies.
Can schools or community organisations refer children to Lehikeng?
If you work with vulnerable children or families and believe Lehikeng may be able to assist, contact our team. Support will depend on programme capacity, eligibility and the circumstances of each referral.
